At this point two years ago top odds makers gave Hillary a 60% chance of winning the election. As the election drew close the odds increased to over 90% in Hillary's favor. On the election day she was one of the largest favorites ever the day of the election. Then the results came in and the polls where wrong. Trump got elected president. This was one of the largest election upsets since Truman beat Dewey in the 1948 presidential election. Now many people think that it is a sure thing that the democrats will win in 2018. In 2016 most people thought that way also but the results turned out differently. Do not let the polls make you think that your side has already won or already lost with three months still to go until the election. Strange things can still happen. Make sure to get out and vote this November.

Sorry for not posting a lot lately. I will now focus less on sports and more on politics as the midterm elections are coming up very soon.

France beats Croatia 4-2 in the World Cup Grand Final. this is there second world title all time and there first since 1998. With the win France gets a second star on there uniform, gold medals for there players and the world cup trophy. The score was 2-1 France in the first half and 2-1 France in the second half. France scored the first goal early on in the half. Croatia responded and level the score 1-1 in the first half. Late in the half France scored another goal taking a 2-1 halftime lead. France started the second half with two goals to take a three goal lead. Croatia responded with a goal but it was too little too late. France wins the world cup Croatia finishes in second place

In today's match Belgium beat England 2-0. Belgium scored the only first half goal very early in the half. For the vast majority of the match there was little action and no scoring. The score was 1-0 at halftime. In the second half England went on the attack. Belgium scored the only second half goal late in the half on a counter attack. Belgium won the match 2-0 in a dominating performance. Belgium finishes in 3rd place England is eliminated from the tournamnet

No Matches today so instead I will preview the grand final. France will take on Croatia. France is one of the younger teams in the tournament while Croatia is older. It is likely now or never for Croatia. France won the world cup in 1998 and made it to the finals in 2006. In 2006 they lost in a shootout and one of there players got red cared in a head butt. Croatia has never made it to the finals of the world cup till this year. The best finish they have ever had until now is 4th place at the world cup.

No matches today so instead I will preview the 3rd place playoff. England will take on Belgium. England has one of the youngest teams in the world left while Belgium has one of the oldest teams in the world left. Belgium has never won a medal at the world cup and England has not won one since they won the entire tournament in 1966.

In the only match today Croatia beat England 2-1. The score was 1-1 in normal time and 1-0 in extra time. England scored the only goal in the first half taking the lead at halftime. Croatia scored the only goal in the second half forcing extra time. There were no goals scored in the first half of extra time keeping the match a draw. In the second half of extra time Croatia scored the only goal of extra time and won the match. Croatia advances to the final England is relegated to 3rd place playoff

In today's match France beat Belgium 1-0. There was no score in the first half of the match. France scored the only goal in the second half. Belgium was disappointing as they were shutout in the match. France played great defense to earn the clean sheet win. France advances to the finals Belgium is relegated to the 3rd place playoff

No matches today so instead I will preview the second semifinal match up. The match up features Croatia taking on England. Croatia is the cinderella team of the tournament. Even though they might not be the most talented they are playing very well right now. England is one of the best teams in the world. England is the favorite but do not count Croatia out.

No Matches Today so instead I will preview the first semifinal. The first semifinal has France taking on Belgium. Both France and Belgium are among the highest ranking teams in the world. France is a young and experienced team while Belgium is a bit older. Should be an exiting and close match to watch.

In the first match of the day England beat Sweden 2-0. England looked like the better team and dominated the match. In the second match Croatia beat Russia 2-2 (4-3) in a penalty shootout. The score was 1-1 in normal time 1-1 in extra time and 4-3 in a penalty shootout. Russia scored the first goal in the first half and then Croatia scored the equalizer to end the half. Neither team scored in the second half causing the match to go into extra time. In the first period of extra time Croatia scored the go ahead goal. At the mid point in extra time the score was 2-1. In the second period in extra time Russia scored the match tying goal forcing a penalty shootout. In the shootout a Russian player had a horrible miss. That would be costly for if he made the shot they would have had a sudden death shootout. Teams advancing to next round: England and Croatia Teams eliminated from the tournament: Sweden and Russia

No matches today so I will preview the last two quarterfinal match ups. In the first match on Saturday Sweden will take on England. England is the heavy favorite in this match but do not count out Sweden for there have played well so far in this tournament. England on the other hand has lost one match already and required a penalty shootout win just to advance to this round. In the second match Russia will take on Croatia. Both teams needed a shootout win to make it to this round. The Russians are the home team and therefore should not be counted out even if they are the underdog.

No matches today so instead I will preview the first two quarterfinals. These two matches will happen on Friday.  In the first match Uruguay will take on France. Uruguay has one of the best and most controversial players in the world Luis Suarez. France has one of the best teams in the world. Should be an exiting and close match. The winner will very likely finish in the top three of the world cup and might even win it all. In the second match Brazil takes on Belgium.Brazil has both one of the best players in the world Neymar and one of the best teams in the world. Belgium also has one the best teams in the world. Brazil is not only the favorite to advance but also to win it all but do not count out Belgium for they are a great team. The winners of these two matches will play each other in the semifinals.

In the first match Sweden beat Switzerland 1-0. Sweden controlled the match and come up a winner in a close one. In the second match England beat Colombia 1-1 (4-3) in a penalty shootout. The score was 1-1 in regular time, 0-0 in extra time and 4-3 in penalty shootout. England scored the first goal in a penalty kick and dominated throughout normal time. In stoppage time Colombia scored a last minute goal and forced extra time. In extra time neither time scored a goal but it was fun for England put pressure on Colombia. England dominated the penalty shootout. It was a fun match and it is a shame that somebody has to lose. Sweden will take on England in the quarterfinals later this week. In the first match today Brazil beat Mexico 2-0. The match was close in the first half but Brazil dominated the second half. Brazil advances to the quarterfinals for the 7th tournament in a row while Mexico is eliminated in the round of 16 for the 7th tournament in the row. In the second match today Belgium beat Japan 3-2 in a last second stoppage time match winning goal. Belgium came back from down 2 goals at by scoring three unanswered goals in the end of the match. In the group stage of the tournament Sweden won there group and Switzerland finished second in there group. Both teams are considered favorites to go deep in this tournament. In the first match today Russia beat Spain 1-1 (4-3) in penalty kicks. The score was 1-1 in regular time, 0-0 in extra time and 4-3 in penalty kicks. Spain controlled the ball most of the match and locked dominant but could not get a second goal. Russia scored there only goal with a penalty kick in in the first half. This upset was a very big surprise. In the second match Croatia beat Denmark 1-1 (3-2) in penalty kicks. The score was 1-1 in regular time, 0-0 in extra time and 3-2 in penalty kicks. The match was close and exiting from the first half to the last kick in penalty shootout. Russia will take on Croatia in the Quarterfinals. Spain and Denmark are eliminated from the tournament.
